Natural Remedies For MenopauseThe menopause is a stage of life which every woman will have to endure at some point. Some women however, will sail through and barely notice that their bodies are changing, while others will suffer symptoms on a daily basis until their bodies have completed the process. Over the years there are been various controversial reports concerning hormone replacement treatments, the most scariest of these being the possible link to breast cancer. Regardless of the outcome of these scares, many women still seem to be cautious of HRT and prefer to look for natural remedies for menopause symptoms. Some of the symptoms suffered by women during the menopause are, stomach cramps and hot flushes. Black Cohosh is a treatment which is believed to be effective on both of these. It is also thought to help boost the low levels of estrogen produced by the body, which causes these menopausal symptoms. This is one of the most popular natural remedies for menopause, partly due to the large amount of traditional research which has been done on the product and seems to back up the herbalists beliefs. Unfortunately this is not recommended for any prolonged use as there are some concerns about side effects if a woman continues treatment for too long. Ginseng is often used to treat ailments such as depression and other emotional conditions. For this reason it is also considered useful as one of the natural remedies for menopause. The ginseng seems to also help women to sleep during this period, possibly due to the calming of the emotions and concerns which were the cause of their disturbed sleep. This adds to the effectiveness of the drug as the increased sleep allows the body to build up the necessary reserves to naturally deal with the stress of the menopause. The third natural remedy for menopause which I will discuss here is the Dong Quai. This is herb which has been used by the Chinese for a long time in the treatment of the female reproductive system. The herb is believed to help regulate the body and therefore reduce the erratic nature of the menopause. The other useful aspect of this natural remedies for menopause is that it lowers the patients blood pressure. As human we will always be looking for more answers and be requiring more research, but one thing we know is that the body has to go through certain processes. Anything we can do in harmony with our bodies to make it easier has got to be a better option than using harsher chemicals to override what our bodies are trying to achieve. |
